WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND HOW DO WE COLLECT IT?  

We only ever collect the personal information that we need from you and keep to a minimum the personal information we hold on an ongoing basis.

We collect and process your personal information when you visit our website and use our services. This may be personal information you provide to us, that we collect about you and/or information we receive from other sources.

Information we ask you to provide to us

The personal information we may ask you to provide includes your:

  • address
  • date of birth
  • e-mail address
  • phone number
  • employment & education history & details (employment candidates)
  • bank account details
  • other financial and credit card information; and
  • passport information

Where you are a potential investor then we are required by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to collect some of this personal information

We would ask you to ensure that the personal information you provide to us is kept up-to-date and therefore please contact us if you need us to amend anything.

Information we automatically collect about you

Each time you visit our website we will collect technical and other information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns.  We collect this personal information using cookies and other similar technologies.

We use essential cookies to enable us to operate our website.  We also use both Google Analytics and Hotjar to enable us to track visitors and to help us make the browsing experience better.  Details of specific cookies used are as follows:

_ga Used to track whether a user has visited our website before (part of Google Analytics)
_gat Used to throttle request rate (part of Google Analytics)
_hjIncludedInSample Used for tracking sample data (part of Hotjar)

We use approved third parties to provide some services to us (including placing agents, consultants, IT service providers, recruitment consultants and PR firms) and may receive your personal information from them.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AFTER WE COLLECT IT?

We use your personal information as follows (legal ground relied on stated in brackets):

  • to provide you with information about our investment services in response to your request (contract);
  • to provide you with investment services and to invoice you (contract);
  • to carry out an identity check on you to comply with FCA requirements and the UK anti- money laundering regime (legal obligation);
  • to assess your skills, suitability and qualification as an employment candidate (contract);
  • to provide you with information about other services we offer (legitimate interests where you are already receiving services from us or have made an enquiry and therefore this      would not be unexpected contact from us (also known as the soft opt-in));
  • to notify you about changes to our services (legitimate interests on the basis that this would be useful information for you to receive as a current or former client); and
  • to ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer (legitimate interests in that we have a business interest in doing this).
  • to administer our site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting and survey purposes (legitimate interests in that we need to carry out regular maintenance and testing on our site);
  • as part of our efforts to keep our site safe and secure (legitimate interests for us to maximise safety and security for both parties);

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH?

We share your information with selected third parties including:

  • Our business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the administration of any contract we enter into with them or you.
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site.

All third parties are required by us to treat your personal information as carefully as we

would and may only act on our instructions with regard to their use of your personal information.

We may also disclose your personal information to:

  • a prospective seller or buyer of our business or assets (where relevant). If IQ Capital      Partners LLP or substantially all of our assets are bought by a third party then our      customers’ personal information will be one of the transferred assets.
  • comply with a legal obligation or to exchange information with other organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

We will never sell your personal information and will never share it with a company for marketing purposes.

WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

In certain circumstances we transfer and store your personal information at a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).  This may include countries which the European Union authorities do not consider provide an adequate level of protection for your personal information (for example the United States). However, in this situation we ensure that we put in place adequate safeguards to protect your personal information.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We keep your personal information for the following time periods:

When we no longer need to keep your personal information we undertake to delete it and dispose of it securely.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

You have the following rights in connection with your personal information:

  • to withdraw consent given at any time by contacting us at Andrew@iqcapital.vc with “REQUEST TO WITHDRAW CONSENT” in the title of the email.
  • to request a copy of your personal information which we hold about you.

In certain circumstances you may:

  • request that we correct your personal information
  • request that we delete your personal information from our records
  • request that we restrict processing of your personal information
  • object to us processing your personal information
  • request that we transfer your personal information to a third party.

You do not usually need to pay a fee to exercise your rights (except in limited circumstances; for example if your request is excessive)

We may need further information from you before we can respond to your request; for example to verify your identity.

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within 1 month.  In certain circumstances it may take us longer than 1 month; for example if your request is particularly complex.  If this applies then we will confirm this and keep you updated.

If you wish to exercise your rights or have an issue or complaint arising under this Policy then please contact our Privacy Officer at Andrew@iqcapital.vc with “PRIVACY” in the title of the email.

If you are not satisfied with our decision regarding your issue or complaint then you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk/concerns/).

SECURITY

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

We will ensure that the personal information that we hold is subject to appropriate security measures.

If we update this policy then we will add a notification on our website.
