Gravis is an ETH Zurich spin-off that was founded in 2022. The company specialises in retrofitting heavy construction machinery with advanced autonomy solutions. Gravis’ technology stack integrates real-time LiDAR, GNSS, IMU, and joint sensing to enable precise terrain mapping and adaptive control in dynamic environments. The company’s modular hardware ‘Rack’ supports remote operation and AI-driven task execution, allowing machines to perform functions such as trenching, truck loading, and material handling, with minimal human oversight. Gravis collaborates with major OEMs to deploy its systems across quarries, aggregate plants, and construction sites, addressing industry challenges related to labour shortages, safety, and productivity.
