Marek joined IQ Capital in 2019, and as a Technology Principal he is responsible for identifying technology trends and the most promising areas of frontier technologies to guide our deep-tech investment strategy. He also oversees our internal investment processes and advises our portfolio companies on their product strategy and engineering practices. Marek sits on the board of Myrtle.
Prior to joining IQ Capital, Marek held a number of technology management roles, both in small and large organisations, including several successful deep-tech start-ups in the Cambridge ecosystem: Granta Design (acquired by Invensys), Spiral Software (acquired by ANSYS) and Prowler.io ($100m valuation).
His experience straddles both academia and industry, and includes the development, product management or delivery of products ranging from databases and apps to graphical user interfaces for electron microscopes and cloud-based, AI-powered SaaS platforms.
Marek’s background spans finance, engineering and product development: he holds an MSc in Economics from the Warsaw School of Economics, an MSc in Production Engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology, and a PhD in Engineering Design from the University of Cambridge.
